Semi-Automated Labelling of Cystoid Macular Edema in OCT Scans

چکیده
The analysis of retinal Spectral-Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (SD-OCT) images by trained medical professionals can be used to provide useful insights into various diseases. It is the most popular method imaging due its non-invasive nature and information it provides for making an accurate diagnosis. A deep learning approach automating segmentation Cystoid Macular Edema (fluid) in OCT B-Scan images was developed that consequently volumetric analysis scans. This solution a fast semantic network that makes use shortened encoder-decoder UNet like architecture with integrated Dense ASPP module Attention Gate producing refined retinal fluid map. Our system evaluated against both publicly privately available datasets; on former network achieved Dice coefficient 0.804, thus making current best performing this dataset, very small and challenging private score 0.691. Due lack publicly available data in domain, Graphical User Interface aims semi-automate the labelling process also created, thus greatly simplifying of the dataset creation potentially leading increase labelled production.

We review the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and etiology of cystoid macular edema (CME). Inflammatory, diabetic, post-cataract, and macular edema due to age-related macular degeneration is described. The role of chronic inflammation and hypoxia and direct macular traction is evaluated in each case according to different views from the literature. The different diagnostic methods for evaluating...

Cataract surgery is an efficient procedure, and is generally associated with good visual results. Nevertheless, cystoid macular edema (CME) may develop, and this can result in suboptimal postoperative vision. Many factors are considered to contribute to its development, and although the treatment options depend upon the underlying cause of CME, the usual therapeutic approach for prophylaxis and...

cystoid macular edema (cme) is a painless disease with different etiologies, which manifests as multiple cyst like (cystoid) spaces in the macula. cme is a common cause of vision loss following cataract surgery. some risk factors for post-cataract surgery cme include intraoperative complications specially incarceration of vitreous in the surgical wound, history of diabetes, uveitis and postoper...
